Centre College Class Takes Anne Mitchell to France

2013 Jan 14

Anne Mitchell of Fayetteville, a sophomore at Centre College, is studying abroad in France during CentreTerm, the College's unique, three-week winter term.

Under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Fieberg, associate professor of chemistry, the course is focused on the progression of French painting from the 1860's to the 1900's. Students spend time in art museums, conservation labs, and actual painting sites of important artists in Paris and Provence. The scientific study includes light and its interaction with matter, color mixing, chemical and physical causes of color, and the biology of vision.

Mitchell is the daughter of Jim and Shannon Mitchell of Fayetteville and is a graduate of Fayetteville Sr High School.
