Colin Wurster of Centerville enrolls at Centre College

Colin Wurster of Centerville has enrolled this year at Centre College, joining Centre's largest-ever first year class and largest overall enrollment. Academically, more than half were in the top 10 percent of their high school class, and the average ACT score is nearly 29. Both represent the strongest new-student profile of any Kentucky college or university.

Wurster is the son of Gregory Wurster and Diane Cloutier of Centerville and is a graduate of Centerville High School.

Founded in 1819, Centre College is ranked 42nd among the U.S. News top national liberal arts colleges and ranks 27th for best value among national liberal arts colleges. Forbes magazine ranks Centre 34th among all the nation's colleges and universities and has named in the top five among all institutions of higher education in the South for three years in a row. The 2010 Open Doors Report, published by the International Educational Exchange, ranks the College second in the nation for percentage of students who study abroad. Centre alumni, known for their nation-leading loyalty in annual financial support, include two U.S. vice presidents, two Supreme Court justices, 13 U.S. Senators, 43 U.S. Representatives, and 11 governors.
