Louis Rodgers Elected to Centre College Student Government Association

2013 Apr 10

Louis Rodgers of Florence, a sophomore at Centre College, was elected to the student senate for division III of the College's Student Government Association (SGA) for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Centre's SGA represents students as their voice on academic, extracurricular, and social issues. The organization consists of an Executive Council of officers and committee chairs, a Student Senate that handles academic issues, and a House of Representatives that oversees all clubs and organizations on campus. Each class elects representatives, who serve on committees that deal with specific aspects of campus life and approve all club funding, establishment of new organizations, and other pieces of legislation.

Rodgers is the son of Paul and Mary Rodgers of Florence, and is a graduate of St Henry High School.

Centre College, founded in 1819, is a nationally ranked liberal arts college in Danville, Ky. Centre hosted its second Vice Presidential Debate on 10.11.12, and remains the smallest college in the smallest town ever to host a general election debate.
